Made by Bay State, Worcester.Mass.USA! Can anyone tell me what the value of this gun is? Also do you know what year it was made?

Thanks,
David

I THINK this is a name used by Harrington & Richardson. In general, these were utility grade guns for the working stiff, and do not have a high collectors value. Have seen mention of them from about early 1900's, and dissapeared before WW II. Anyone else got some info?

Do a search here for Bay State and you will find several previous threads. Bay State was a name used by Harrington & Richardson on economy model shotguns until 1942. You give us no clues as to the condtion of your shotgun which would impact value, but given that they were economy models to begin with and are not particularly uncommon, the value is likely to be modest.

the 'bay state' name written in cursive with worchester in small print below is exactly the way H&R marked them in the early years of their production up to about 1939. in the 1940 and 1941 catalogs they were marked 'bay state' in block letters with out the worcester markings...

However, Bay State was also a company prior to 1900 that manufactured a shotgun called the 'Davenport' in 12 ga only. Values are also modest on these.
