Just wondering if anyone can help identify the German maker of a 22 single action 22 long rifle revolver.
Left side of barrel has Cal..22 LR. Bottom of barrel has Germany and serial number. Has a serial number, same,on the frame. Bottom of butt has L A's Deputy. The walnut grips have a gold colored inlay with a bull and L A over it. I realize it is not a high priced gun. It is well made steel. Heavy for a 22. Looks just like a Colt. Barrel is 4 1/2 inches.
Thanks in advance for any help.

My references show that your revolver was made by Herbert Schmidt, located in what was then Ostheim West Germany. A lot of Schmidt's revolvers will have a small "HS" marking, only. It probably dates to the late 60's, it will have West German dated proof marks. LA Distributors was the importer, as shown in the catalog section of the 1969 Gun Digest.
