Too valuable to shoot?

I got a Winchester 94 with Traditional Walnut Stock (checkered) in .44Rem. mag with a 20" barrel. The serial number is 6529616. It is new in the box unfired

Does it have any value over being a shooter.

Thanks,
Bruce

Being that it is still NIB, it does have slightly more value than a well cared for gun that has been shot. If you retain the box and associated paperwork, but shoot the gun occasionally, it will only marginally reduce the value. Your U.S.R.A.Co. made Model 94 is not considered "collectable" by those of us that seriously collect Winchester firearms, but who knows for sure what the future holds.

Your model 94 new in box 100% is worth $325. At 98% $250. At 95% $200. So it does take away from the value a little, but the fun of owning a gun is shooting it.

At best it is a 2nd generation and will not be worth much for 50 to a 100 years.

No such thing as "too valuable to shoot" in my book. If I owned the million dollar Luger .45, I'd shoot it.

Use that rifle- Just don't abuse it. Keep all paperwork and box that goes with it. Give that rifle some history!
