Hi Guys, I recently acquired a collection of items (that was originally purchased in Phoenix about 60 years ago). The man I bought them from said his dad bought the stuff from an old gunsmith in the valley. He was going to try his hand at finishing them but never did. The son got the stuff and sold it off. I have a barreled action (Unfinished BRNO)customizing job. A finished barrel with no markings at all (Approx 270 cal) A large barrel about an inch in dia and 45 cal stamped (W. A. Sukalle - Gunmaker - Phoenix) This large barrel is unfinished - no threads to screw it into a receiver - and some other stuff. I have two small ring mauser actions from this lot currently listed on gunbroker. Can you tell me if there would be any collector interest in this kind of stuff? Thanks GB

Can't really tell you what it's worth, but Sukalle rates right up there with the best of them from an era gone by. He also made his own barrels which were toppest (?) quality in their day. Anything he touched he did right. Bliss Titus, Parker Ackley and Sukalle were the tops of their time
    Hope it helped

as a gunsmith I'd certainly be interested in this sort of 'stuff', I'll be checking out your auctions. btw, I think you are 'over priced' on the arisika .22/250, it might be a good shooter but...

Are there any numbers on the bottom of the Sukalle barrel? Is so what are they?

Hi, nothing more on the Sukalle marked barrel - but another barrel that came in the lot is stamped 971-15 (Does this mean anything?) GB

Not numbers I'm familiar with. Finished Sukalle barrels found on rifles will have a three-four or five digit number on the bottom. The last two numbers will be the year it was made and the first numbers will be the barrel number for that year such as 2335 which would be the 23rd barrel of 1935.

If you put the barrel at auction, please let us know and post the twist.
