I just received a NIB Colt commercial C sufix model. The grips have shrunk to the point that a .020 pin gauge will fit in between the grip bushing and the grip. My question is fi I push the grips off will I have trouble puting them back on. This is a last year production gun.

Hello if these are the COLTROCK plastic type grips they shrink and then don't fit correctly Colt changed the type of plastic a number of times I have put them in a pan of boiling water and been able to form them [:p]but others have broken when I tried the same thing.[xx(][xx(][xx(]

Yes they snaped off and went back on with even a harder snap. I could see where the grips being off for an extended time could lead to problems.
