I need alittle help with stock identification.I purchased a Winchester 52-D at the CMP last week that has a early example of a laminated thumbhole stock with a large cheek piece. It appears to be many pieces of different wood glued together before machining, different than todays laminated wood.It sports an aluminum adjustable butt plate and a hand stop rail. There were about a dozen just like it and each was numbered by a decal 2 thru 14,since there were so many identical, I assumed they may have belonged to an ROTC shooting team? The empolyees did'nt have any information on this varation of the 52-D.If anyone has any info I would appreciate your answer.I wish I was able to include a picture but I can't so I hope my description was sufficient. Thanks Dave
