Any reviews out there for this rifle. Is this a well made rifle, comparing to Remington 700?, etc... Looking for help about this rifle as I am thinking of a 270wsm.
Also a source of polymer replacement stocks.

Thanks

i looked at the rifle in 223 because my son is finishing high scool this year i ended up with a remmy sps 223 225.00 cheaper.maybe later i own 2 savages a model 114 30-06 and a 93 17cal. they are very accurate guns out of the box. i chose the 114 over the browning and remmy and am glad i did.

    Hey There,
I just wanted to put in my 2 cents:
I own a Savage 10FP in .308. It is VERY accurate and reliable. I read a study several years ago re: .308's from high dollar dream guns to the low end (Savage) out of the box accuracy tests. The conclusion was that Savage performed as good or BETTER than the high end rifles. If you put quality glass on it, i.e. BURRIS, etc., you will have a fine shooting rifle and not be out all those hard-earned Benjamins that you can now use to buy good glass and a lot of rounds.
I had to study the issue thoroughly as I am not so well healed in the wallet, if you know what I mean. I paid $500 for the rifle and put another $500 in a Burris mil-dot scope and I shoot quite well with it. And the best part is that Savage is MADE IN AMERICA.
    Good Luck, Best Wishes!!!

One more thing... this link will provide you with a sweet after market stock assembly option. Take Care.

The accutrigger is sweet. I hunt with a .308 Savage "package" gun, can't complain. Best bang for buck rifle, blows away Remington's POS 710 IMHO[:)]
