I have several and some are on some hard recoiling guns and they seem to hold up well. Have not had one fail yet. I'd definitely buy another if needed.[8D]

I switched from BSA to Barska as far as my "cheap" scopes go. Take a look at Barska. www.sportsmansguide.com has some great deals.
Half of the lives they tell about me aren't true.

I have a RWS air rifle that came as a package deal with a 4X RWS scope. I was having problems getting it to group and found the problem to be the scope. I replaced it with a BSA 3-12x40 air rifle scope and haven't had any more probles since. I am now shooting consistent groups at 30yds. that can be covered up with a dime. The scope has an adjustable objective lense, target style windage/ elevation turrets and came with THREADED lense covers, all for about 75 bucks! I bought it from BSA, right off their web site and got it on sale, they were running a special at the time. So to answer your question. Yes, I am pleased with my experience with them.

As far as I am concerned they are junk. Loose reticles, loose lenses, fogging, and the list goes on. Buy a Swift, Leupold or Burris and you will never regret it.

I agree with Old Fool to some degree. You do not by quality optics in a blister pack, for $29.95 or at Wally World. I think you can do better than BSA in the BSA price range, ie Bushnell, but you are better served saving a little longer and buying a quality scope. Burris Signature Select is my top choice, Leupold second, Nikon and IOR Valdada tie for third.

Thanks guys. I'm looking for a scope to put on a old 22 * hunting rifle. this rifle will be punished pretty hard. So i was split between a cheap scope easy to replace or a high dollar scope that may stand up to the punishment of being beat around and the harshness of the weather.

Burris Signature scope in Burris signature rings; you'll be good to go for life.

I'd have to say you would be plumb loco to put a high $ scope on a * hunting rifle. Some of these guys are scope snobs who don't think anything under $250 is worth mounting. I admit the cheap scopes are not as good as the expensive lines but you can still get a scope that will hold zero and provide good service for under $50. Yes, I have some good quality scopes but they're not on a $50 .22 rifle either. Both Bushnell and BSA sell decent scopes just stay away from the lowest priced ones.

also, check out the simmons pro series line. I have one on a weatherby vanguard 30-06. Very clear optics and stands up to recoil. I would buy another if needed.[:)]

I've got three scoped rifles right now, all with BSA on top. I will NEVER claim they are as good as the high dollar brands, but they are more accurate than me, so thats all I need. The one on my 22mag has been dropped and fallen on, and still works great. Just stay away from the blister pack / cheapest ones.

I wouldn't give a BSA a thumbs up. I've returned two and won't spend any more on them at all
