I have been given a Bayard 1908 in good shape and appears to be functioning well. I have also been given an American Arms Revolver w/ hammer. I have seen pictures of both but have found no information as far as history or value. Any informaion would be appreciated.

MY FATHER PASSED AWAY AND LEFT ME THREE GUNS. I AM TRYING TO GET A PRICE ON THEM.
THE FIRST GUN IS A GERMAN LUGAR. IT IS PRETTY PLAIN WITH JUST THE NUMBER 82309 BELOW THE BARREL FACING FRONT. ON THE SIDE, ABOVE THE TRIGGER, JUST BEFORE THE BARREL IS THE LETTER N WITH A CROWN SYMBOL ABOVE IT. THIS SYMBOL IS ALSO ON THE TOP OF THE GUN WHERE IT LIFTS UP TO COCK. ON THE VERY TOP OF THE GUN APPEARS TO BE A MONAGRAM WHICH IS UNREADABLE. ON THE BACK OF THE GUN WHERE IT COCKS IS THE NUMBER 09.
THE SECOND GUN IS ALSO A LUGER. THIS HAS THE NUMBER 1190 ON THE SIDE ABOVE THE TRIGGER BEFORE THE BARREL. BELOW THAT IS THE NUMBER 22 ON WHAT APPEARS TO BE THE SAFETY. THE NUMBER 22 IS ALSO ON TWO DIFFERENT SPOTS ON THIS SIDE ALONG WITH THE WORD GESICHERT. ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GUN, THERE IS THE NUMBER 655 WITH WHAT APPEARS TO BE GERMAN SYMBOLS ABOVE IT TWO TIMES AND A GERMAN SYMBOL BY ITSELF. THIS IS ABOVE THE TRIGGER JUST BEFORE THE BARREL. ON THE FRONT OF THE GUN FACING OUT BELOW THE BARREL IS THE NUMBER 4622 WITH A LOWER CASE N BELOW IT. ON THE TOP OF THE GUN THERE IS THE NUMBER 41, THE NUMBER 22 TWO MORE TIMES AND AN S/42.
THE THIRD GUN IS A MAUSER. ON THE TOP PART OF THE BARREL THERE ARE THE WORDS "WAFFENFABRIK MAUSER OBERNDORF A/N". BELOW THAT IS THE NUMBER 206432. BELOW THAT IS THE LETTER U WITH TWO SYMBOLS ABOVE IT. ON THE SIDE OF THE GUN THERE ARE THE SAME WORDS AS THE TOP OF THE GUN WITH THE EXCEPTION OF THE N IS REPLACED WITH THE WORD "NECKAR". ON THE HAMMER OF THE GUN IS THE NUMBER 432. THAT NUMBER IS ALSO WHERE THE HAMMER HITS. BELOW THE HAMMER IS THE NUMBER 206432.
I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM SOMEONE.
    THANKS,
    ED

Believe their were actually ( 2 ) different 1908 Bayards. One was the small pocket .32 mentioned by the other posters. The other was the large military 9mm with the removeable magazine in front of the trigger guard. It more commonly known as the Bergmann-Bayard.

    There's a Model 1908 Bayard collector at http://members.aol.com/bayard1908/index.html

    Quote from his website:

<begin quote> I would be happy to answer all Bayard questions, except shotgun questions, and can accurately estimate your pistol's date of manufacture based on the serial number. These pistols were made in .25, .32, and .380 caliber by Anciens Etablissements Pieper of Herstal Belgium and have a September 8, 1908 patent date on top of the slide. They may also be marked, "Modele Depose" or have a metric caliber designation of 6.35mm, 7.65mm, or 9mm.
