Ballistic media test

I see several websites with the ballistic media at muzzle velocities. While this is probably appropriate for most urban conditions, the performance of the bullets at 100, 200 and 300 yards is relevant to hunting conditions. Is there a site or source for the performance of bullets in ballistic media down range? I suspect the bullets expand somewhat less and with the reduced frontal area the penetration is about the same. As bullet is spinning at the same rate even down range, the expansion may be greater at the same impact velocity if the initial velocity is higher. Does anyone know if this is correct? Thank you for your responses.

No expert on this, but what I have found, at least with my 7mag, is expansion is greater at 100-200yds than at <50ft. with 150gr. soft point. The velocity is simply too fast at close distances for the bullet to fully expand WITHIN a deer size target at that range. Up close they blow through before expanding fully. Each bullet is different and each is designed to work best at a certain velocity and target density.

My guess, however, is that if you were to shoot a 5ft. block of ballistic gelatin with my 7mag at 50ft and again at 200yds, both with the same bullet and grain weight, that they would both expand the same just at different depths of penetration.
