Anschutz savage target

My local dealer got one in on consignment. I believe it was marked as a model 64 or 54. Thought it was a single shot in 22 long rifle. Has a rather complicated micrometer rear sight and globe front. Anyone tell me how these shoot? Rifle balanced well and had a super trigger. Was marked as made in West Germany, but also had made in USA on it. Price is under $400.00. Worth it? I'm a sucker for match rifles, but am saving for a CMP carbine when they come out. Also can't pass up on a good deal. TIA...Joe

Hello JOE if it is a 54 it would be a steal.sights alone worth quite a bit. if model 64 ????? You do know the carbine is not a target rifle [:p] right. It will be interesting to see what these look like when CMP turns them loose. can you say feeding frenzy[:0][:0][:0]

I have a Savage Anschutz Match 64; it is a fine little rifle. I don't know what you could buy for that money, especially including the Anschutz sights.

That gun is a steal at $400. I've shot this model and they are excellent guns. I seem to remember they were not as finely finished (exterior) as the pure Anschutz guns.

If you need a great target .22, buy it. Like perry said, the sights alone will bring $$$ on eBay.

Sell the sights, buy a scope and you've got a great squirrel gun.

I had the Savage/Anschutz 64 and shot it many many times. Great "little" rifle for the money. At that price buy it.
