M1 Garand stock SA JLG

I'm trying to get a rough idea of the value of an M1 Garand stock. it is in very good shape with a very clear SA JLG cartouche, also has crossed cannons, and the circle P under the grip. This came on my CMP Garand which was right for my receiver# but the rest of the rifle is a mixmaster. Good shooter, but I'm not sure if the stock with the rifle raises it's value that much. Or if they are best off parting ways. Still have a good shooter stock anyway. Don't want to part with any of it, but things happen and the wood can go first. Appreciate any thoughts on the matter. Thanks

It could be worth while selling the stock. It depends on the condition. You might want to post your question on the M1 Forum at www.jouster.com . Be prepared to post photos.

There are a lot of these stocks being sold on E-bay, find one on there and watch it sell.

I think without checking references that that stock is correct for a 4.2 SA Garand. It is a sought after stock and in my opinion would bring between $175 and $300 for the stock alone. A truly pristine JLG stock would bring over $350. Best bet though is to look on ebay. Be advised that there are a lot of stock "humpers" out there making counterfit stocks...one of the most trustworthy of the ebay sellers is "ihcfan55", he is a recognized and respected garand expert.
