Jumbo Bwana....My Advice is to FORGET Them! The last thing You want is something that can Rattle or Make Unwanted Nose or get in Your way for a Snap shot...Your "PH" will tell You want to carry in the Field or in the Bush...and in a situation that requires split second re-action You sure as Hell don't need to trip over excess parafinalia.....You will need one hand to Hold Your Rifle and the other to work the bolt...and squeeze the Trigger..Talk with Your Outfitter......

If your hunting Africa your PH will have a set that is carried by the Scout. If the situtation presents itself with time to shoot they will set them up. Personally I don't care for them but I shoot offhand an tremendous amount.

I've hunted R.S.A.,Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Namibia,Mozambique and Angola over twenty something years and have never even seen shooting sticks used. If ever I needed a long plains shot the PH or one of the trackers would always make a useful rest. I carried the rifle and the paid extras carried everything else.
Concentration on the rifle and what you are shooting at is paramount because, if you draw blood you pay, whether the animal is recovered or not.
