Can any of you Winchester knowledgeable guys tell me the physical difference between the Winchester 52-D international model and the 52-D Prone model. I understand the difference is only in the stock. Thanks Dave

I'm sure somebody else will come along with more details, but I belive the International is set up for 3 position shooting. Butt hook, palm rest, etc.

Dave, Here are descriptions copied from a advertising brochure pictured in Houze's book:

Model 52D--Standard or Heavyweight Barrel. Free floating 28" barrel. Trigger adjusts to one pound. Marksman stock of choice walnut. Accessory channel and fore-end stop. Receiver and barrel drilled and tapped for metallic sights and scope blocks.

Model 52 International Match Rifle. Precision-rifled leadlapped barrel. Laminated, International-style stock. Micromotion, non-drag trigger. Heavy-weight 28" barrel with Winchester muzzle counterbore. Steel telescopic blocks supplied. (With Kenyon Trigger: or with I.S.U. Trigger at extra cost).

The above descriptions are from a 1972 brochure. Specifications may have been different in other years.
