Winchester 9422 Eagle Scout Commerative

Hello,

I inherited a 9422 Eagle scout .22. New in box, never fired all paperwork (receipts etc) Original boxes PLUS a high-end matching wooden display case. This is the EAGLE scout edition. Only 1000 were made. Sold for 1800+ new.

Looks like there is one for sale at a Cabela's in TX:

Is this gun worth that much? What value would this have on the open market and what would be the best way to sell it (if I wanted to).

Thanks,

Jeff

(this is my first day on the forums, be nice :) )

Gunbroker.com is by far the best placed to sell it. I think Cabela's is either overly optimistic or just waiting for the right buyer to come along since it's still for sale. This one sold for over $5,000: http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=80706629

Hello This is one of the rare times that a rifle made to be collectable actually turned out to be just that. The Eagle Scout is a high dollar item .Will it bring what Cabela's is asking ??? but this site is one of the better places to put it up for sale.

This gun sold at Cabela's for 7500$

    I can't believe that price.

I guess my father had some foresight when he bought it in 1985 for 1800$.

    Thanks for the comments.

One of the reasons that this gun has appreciated is that in the early 90's many of the higher end commemoratives were shipped over seas by Elmer Brummund, Jim Steele and Tom Trolard. I would guess that there's probably not 500 left in this country. But $7500????? That's a bunch!!!!!!!!!!!!!
