I've had 23a's for a LOOONG time and I've never heard of a smooth bore, but that doesn't mean that they never made them.

Do you have one and wonder if it's factory made or do you want to pick one up?

It's possible to bore out the rifling if you want one.

I was researching, looking for imformation on a Savage .22 WWii training rifle and I ran across a smooth bore .22 Savage. I am sorry I cannot remember why it was a smooth bore, the brain cells are saying arcade rifle, the .22 was up for auction so I cannot tell you were to go to look.
