I have been thinking about purchasing a Ruger pistol. In the past, I have fired several different types of these and found them to be OK. I am interested in the opinions of shooter for this platform. Which on is best for the money - etc. Thanks

They are all excellent guns. Well made, accurate, and affordable. What do you want it for and what caliber would you like?
I also have a Super Blackhawk (.44 mag). The only thing that required a change was the wooden grips were taken off and a decellerator grip was put on it (the wood grips are too small and will literally take the skin off your hands when you shoot). Highly accurate, awesome, and fun to shoot.
Ruger KP-90DC - excellent reliability, a little big but one of my favorite .45 ACP's. Accurate in spite of not the best trigger in the world.
Ruger 22/45 - very accurate .22 right out of the box
Ruger standard model .22 - my first ruger, does all you could expect.
Ruger Super Red Hawk .44 magnum. The local gun shop smoothed the trigger out a bit and I topped it with a 2X Swift scope. I bagged my first deer this year with it from 65 yards. It shoots as good for me as my S&W model 29.
Ruger is still one of the best values out there and still American made. Everyone should have a Ruger Mark II, 22/45 or some other make of .22 auto loader. Any of the P-series would be a good pick for home/car self defense. Blackhawks,Redhawks for hunting.

--I've modified the grips, but mechanically the are flawless--Highly recommend Ruger--
