Hello I am sure it is in one of my IDEAL books I will look when I get home tonight if no one else gets info before that. I have a number of older ideal loading manuals and can't find any mention of the powder type in your question . one of the oldest manuals I have is an early Belding & Mull book they list a pistol powder #5 a bulk powder #80 and rifle powders 17&1/2 ,15&1/2 number 1204 and 1147 but nothing like yours i will look at some of my older manuals

Everything I have from the mid 60's says that the MX powder was replaced by Dupont PB; it was used in reloading shotgun shells, xcept for 410ga(the PB). I have nothing on the MX loading data, maybe contact the company and they can give you some load data info.

    jshafe,

    Welcome to the forums!

While it is interesting to find old powders and research their uses I would recommend not loading it. Even though powder has gone up, emergency medical services have gone up more. Keep it safely stored as a momento and possible collector can but please don't use it. If you have no need to keep it or load it it does make a fine bright fire for entertainment.

well i cleaned it up a little more and it says for small arms dont know what that would cover but it says m6x for small arms! it is old but still sealed so i assume still perfect but like u said makes a nice fire! i just hate to waste powder if i have use for it but all i load is 410-28 ga. shotshells and three rifles 222,6mm,and 308 so i prob. cant use it anyway, i appreciate the feedback and anymore u can find or your opinion on it i am thankfull ive looked through every book i have and online still cant find anything about it!
