Info on stolen gun

I had several guns stolen 20 years ago, The only one I really cared about was an 88Commission that I bought while an airman at Wurtsmith AFB. Upon checking with my local PD, I was told that the info on such an old case was buried on microfiche, and would take a special effort to dig through. I did not push the issue, but I wonder if there is a national clearinghouse where one could check on whether a stolen gun has been recovered? Thank you!

If you still have the serial number, any cop can run it through NCIC. If it has been cleared, you can get the name of the agency, date, and contact info. Then call and inquire.

Stickman : I dont know who/what back when this happened , but now , when a Gun is placed into NCIC (stolen/missing FBI list),the only way for it to be removed is by the org. agency ...
    Thanks !!!
