got a new one with accutrigger & closing bolt with no shell feels like right amount of push...put in shell & takes twice or more omph to close bolt...removed bolt & inserted shell held by extractors & noted that rim extended about 1/3 thickness out of bolt face...barrel face is flat with no recess for rim...am i correct in that the solution is to remove extractors & firing pin & mill rim cut in bolt deeper ??????

    Why not discuss it with Savage? Warranty problem? Maybe no problem. In any case, why take the word of a stranger on the www when this is such an obvious safety issue at the least?

    +1 Definately call Savage and explain the problem to them. They will give you instructions for sending it back to them.
