243 to 223

Friend of mine wants to know if he can convert his 700 ADL .243 to a .223 easily. Whats involved?

New bolt face. Sell it and buy one in 223? Or maybe a different 223 althogether, like a savage or maybe a H&R ultra (heavy barrel single shot)

What calibers would be good for this action besides 308?

Anything with a .473 case head diameter and a 51mm (or less) case length.
22-250 comes to mind, as does the 25 Souper, 260Rem, 7mm-08, 338 Ozark (AKA the 338 Federal) etc

You could reduce the boltface by installing a bushing and use a sako style extractor.You can order a new bolt, 1 pc design from pacific tool,remington or sako style ext.I have done it both ways,the PTG bolt is verry nice,last I checked they come without the bolt handle installed
