Winchester Commerative help

Yo....from sunny (but frigid Fla. [8D],

I have a Legendary Frontiersman Winchester 04 in 38-55 up for auction. Someone asked me if the plating on the receiver and forearm cap is silver or pewter....???? I have know idea. HELP?

Oops....my post should say Winchester 94 and ignore the "know" for a simple no............where's spell check when you need it???

Neither. I belive it is just a silver colored alloy.

Duckhunter is correct.

In any case pewter is just an amalgam of base metals; it cannot be used to plate anything.
