i have a pump hammer shotgun and i dont know who made it and would like to find out what it might be worth
it is a realy smooth operating shot gun and seems to be really old
the only thin i can find is the serial number and 12 ga with a little star on each side of the *full choke *
and it has a little humpback in front of the hammer
can anyone give me anything with that
30 inch barrel and a rather short tube
straight butt stock and ringed pump
thanks for any help

It could be a Marlin 1898,17 or 19, maybe a Burgess or Spencer. Can you describe the "ring forearm", approx. how long, how may rings, etc. slide bar on the left, right, both sides? There were a few pump guns being made in England before 1885. So does it have any patent dates?
Most logical places to find info on some of these is the receiver sides, action slide bar, or any type of tang going into the butt stock.
As the others have said pictures are always the best!
Regards Dave
maybe like this Spencer
Nice wood on that one
