The Burris Laser Scope has been availiable for about 3 months.
Does anyone have one? Have you hunted with it? How do you like the scope? Problems?

i have one, if you can get past the looks, im very happy with mine. havent used "in the field" yet, but i have ranged random targets across the lake and its pretty much dead on as my leica range finder...

havent come across any problems yet. glass is very clear, and of course who doesnt like the ballistic plex [;)]

here's what mine looks like all mounted up...

Give it three years and the prices will drop markedly. Probably the weight will drop as well.

Learn to estimate ranges. I do not believe that electronics have any place in the hunting field.

The world record sniper shot was from over 4000 meters by a member of the Canadian Special Forces. Confirmed kill. Betcha he used a range finder. Tough to estimate longer shots I think.

In truth it is tough for most of us to estimate 200 yards, but to distances most guys have any business trying to shoot the subtension of the fine cross hair part of a plex scope, mil dots or Burris plex scopes among others do a good enough job of estimating distance.

I don't know anything abou them except that Burris is a very respected brand. I think it looks cool especially with those Milwaukee's Best cans dangling in the background[;)]

I'll have you know that I bring a digital watch, a cellular phone and a flux capacitor in the woods with me each time I go hunting.

I agree that the various reticle's used in rifle scopes can be used to estimate distance. Especially the mil-dot. Unfortunately, using these for this, takes time, practice, and some understanding of some very fundamental mathematical theory's. One also should have some idea of the target size, as that will be the common denominator which ties it all in together. A laser range finder is much quicker under most conditions, and they even have them now that take into account uphill, and downhill angles. Nice scope though!

Had a chance to play with one at a sporting goods store i thought it was pretty cool it was clear to look through and was easy to use but i don't think i would buy one for hunting i prefer hand held rangefinder and a good scope. but for fast target shooting I'd like to try one

the beer cans do help with the looks[:D]
