I just purchased a remington r15 rifle in 223 with the serial number 223 should I shoot this rifle or save it as a collector? Do many people collect guns by serial number?

I really don't see the point of buying a new firearm and not shooting it. Take it to the range and enjoy your new rifle.

Put it away and use it as an excuse to buy another. If it never is worth anything extra at least you got another rifle out of the deal.
