If I put the insert in thru the top it blocks the bolt from traveling forward, in thru the bottom interfers with the 'cartridge stop' and wont allow the triggerguard to line up with the pin holes.
I'd rather do it myself instead of taking it to a gunsmith, anyone know what to do?
Thank you,
Charlie

The original Apache Black models were chrome or nickel plated. There was a later model which had a black stock and matte black metal.
That one is named the "Black Diamond".. or 66(BD).. The "Apache Black" .. or 66(AB) has a chrome plated receiver cover, screws, and barrel..
JIM.......
Are all Remington Nylon 66 in Apache Black chrome plated? Thanks for your help.
YES!!!!! All 66 (AB) are chrome and black with white trim.. The brown stocked model with white trim is named the Mohawk Brown.. or 66(MB)..

Why are you answering a question that was asked over a year ago?
