Mossberg 500 Family

Happy Holidays! I just bought a used 500C in 2o gauge and have a few questions.
Are 12 gauge and 20 gauge stocks/fore ends interchangeable?
What's the difference between a 500, 500A and 500C?
Will any 500 barrel interchange with other 500's in the same gauge?

The more I learn, the less I know! Many thanks for any help!

    all 500 barrels are interchange also the maverick 88 barrels can interchange with the mossberg model.. 500A=12ga 500B=16ga 500C=20Ga lots of other designations for different barrels and sights but those come after the gauge letter..

    As far as the stocks and forends go I am pretty sure the 20ga is smaller.. forend isn't a likely swap either.. and watch when switching out forends because the auction slides were produced in different lengths. Some short some long.
