Looking for opinions on the Citadel .45 sub-compacts. I hear good things but not sure. Made in Philippines.

These pistols have been discussed many times in this forum under the Rock Island Arsenal name. If you do a search on Rock Island Arsenal many topics/threads will show up. Citadel & Rock Island are just names used by their U.S. importers/distributors. They are actually made by the ArmScore Corp. in the P.I. Many folks have opinions regarding these P.I. made pistols, many positive, a few negative. I will say that they are the best value out there for a entry grade 1911A1 though, i.e. if you don't have a lot of bucks.

In my opinion the 1911 Design works very well BUT as the barrel and slide gets shorter and shorter a number of things come into Play. All which can cause more and more functioning Problems. I love 1911 pistols and even have a small collection of them. But if I want a CARRY gun and would only accept a SUB COMPACT the 1911 design would be on the bottom of my choices .
