light load shell extraction

My wife and I want to get into trap shooting. We were thinking of a Remington 1000 automatic. A 12 gauge for me and a 20 gauge for her.
Can the experts tell me if automatic shotguns have a problem with extracting spent shells with light loads used for trap shooting?

1100 will work fine. You may want to get a shell catcher for your guns to keep the emptys fron flying all over the range.

why not get two 12 gauges? you can get loads of 1oz for the 12. the 20 come in 7/8 oz loads. not much differance in recoil. and with the extra weight of the twelve i dont know anybody that could tell the differance. then also when shee gets ready you can use 1 1/8 oz loads. If you reload you can have just on load for both of you. Many ATA shooters use 1 oz loads and do just fine.
