I am doing some research on a gun I want to buy from a private owner. I am hoping you could give me and ideal where I might find more information on this gun. It has the art work engraved on the gun showing the 1868 to 1968 100th anniversary stamp on the right side. It's serial number is 1-003186. Any information you could give me on the gun would be appreciated. The seller is asking $400.

thanks

BINGO..... Yes Adam it is just like that one but with the 100th anniversary artwork on it. Please send me the info you have. Is $400 a good price for it?

This comment concerns limited production commemoratives in general, not specifically the franchi. If they aren't in "NEW IN BOX", UNTOUCHED CONDITION, WITH THE ORIGINAL BOX, AND DOCUMENTATION, THAT THEY WERE SOLD WITH. Many hard core collectors, won't buy them. I have seen these hard core collectors, going over guns with a magnifying glass, looking for the slightest imperfections or handling marks.

To make a long story short, If the Franchi isn't in the above condition. It's just another used .22 rifle. And I don't see it being worth $400.

Just cleaning out closets and came across this gun, bought it in Calgary in 1972. googled it and came to this site. Same model (breaks down, yes) serial #1-005302. Missing is the pin to unlock barrel and cock it. Same engraving, etc. Any new info on it?
