Standard product carbine

I have a Standard Product carbine with Underwood barrel and the stock is stamped Std Pro...i understand that the stamp on the stock indicates that it was rebuilt by std. pro. in the 50's (more or less). However I can find no markings on the rest of the gun except for the mag release and barrel band as a matter of fact it looks like the marking on the front sight has been removed.....Is the removal of markings standard pdoceedure? The carbine is in mint shape any idea of it's value?

While stock markings were sometimes removed when the carbines were arsenal/contractor refinished, this was not done on purpose; small parts were so cheap they wouldn't have bothered. Without photos, there is no way to tell whether your gun is original, rebuilt, or just plain mutilated.

It's value is in the $200-4,000 range.
