A friend of mine has this pistol that he bought new in the early 90's. He wants to sell it and asked if I could find out for him the approximate value. I didn't see one like it on the sales side. I think it is a National Match. Can anyone help me out? It has had one box of shells through it since it was new.

for one thing, it's NOT a national match [^] The NM is just part of the serial number.
    It's just a Springfield compact 1911 stainless. Worth $400-500.

DCS Shooter is correct NM is a play on words that SPRINGFIELD used and his value is where you should be as to selling price. You can also go to the auction side of Gunbroker and look at COMPLETED auctions this will give you a good Idea of what things are actually selling for.

Be patient...this is not a 1-800-customer service around the clock service.

Used in the condition it is in, and the model it is, you are looking at $400.00 and possibly more due to Mr. Obama.
