We will need pictures, as Boyds is a stockmaker as far as I know.

    Boys (or Boyes) rifle?
In it's origional 55 Boys chambering (considered a "over 50cal districtuve device), or rebarreled to 50 BMG?

Good call Tailgunner! I had not considered the Boyes rifle! In the original".55 or rebarreled to ".50 BMG those are highly collectible guns.
EDIT 1:Looks like the butt plate is missing too, unless I am missing something. Expensive muzzle brake...I would guess someone ran out of time and or money and made it part way through a build on this one.

If it has been rebarreled in .50 BMG, I would start at around $ 3,500.00 and see what happens. It is an uncommon piece that has been modified, so it is a shooter without true collector value. You will be competing against a range of modern bolt action repeaters that sell in the $ 5,000.00 range.

Magazines are hard to find, but there are some out there. One came with my rifle, and I was able to find another on GB, but they do not come up very often. Expect to pay between $ 100.00 and $ 200.00 for a magazine.

Stock mags do not accept standard M-33 ball, though the rifle will shoot it as a single shot. I chose to buy BMG ammo seated at a 5.26" OAL to allow the rifle and magazine to function as designed.

The market for the Boyes rifle in .50 BMG is small, but it consists of folks that have an interest in military history, like things that go boom, and have a lot more dollars than sense.

    (We do exist.)

    Edit:

BTT, sportsmensshop, can you post a photo of the rifle?

    Edit #2:

Pretty rough shape from the photos. Cannot even hazard a guess for value without the butt or the original brake, and with the pitting on the receiver and frame. I do not see much value in the rifle personally, but someone familiar with rebuilding / restoring old military arms may find value or at least point you in the right direction.

(I hope you do not mind me linking your photos.)
