I once bided on an auction for a Winchester 141 22 bolt action butt end loaded rifle. Did not know much about it, just thought it was pretty cool. Just wondering if there are any other companies other than Winchester, out there that made a butt end loaded 22 bolt action? I know Winchester made the same rifle for Sears the "2T". I think they would make very cool survival rifles, with the magazine tube protected by the butt stock, and be able to shoot any 22 except magnum. It also would free up the barrel for supression.

Mossberg, Browning, and Remington all have models with the magazine in the stock. However I think you may be mistaken about the location of the magazine affecting bullet length. Most semi-autos are 22 LR only.
I used to recruit for the NRA until they sold us down the river (again!) in Heller v. DC. See my auctions (if any) under username henryreilly
