i have a all original 1898 second address 41 cal derringer in 95% condition.serial # in the low 200s this was confirmed by local; gunsmiths all blued all near perfect no repairs or changes none of the photos of past auctions are even close to this condition. can i exspect a bid near $2000.00 or is the book just that far off?

In this economy I do not believe you will get $2,000 for a Remington O/U Deringer unless it were factory engraved and even then I think you would be hard pressed to get much more than $1500. If you do a search on the auction side you can get an idea of what they are going for and then do a search for completed auctions. There are a couple of fancy ones on the completed side that were going for $1600 and $2000 and never met the reserve, and have been put up on the block multiple times. Since Navy Arms isn't making anymore .41 Rimfire ammo for it and any that you find at gun shows is ridiculously priced it may put off some buyers who want them to shoot as well.
