I have a pistol that I cannot find in any book. It looks like a Type IV Luxury Model. Looks to be stainless/nickel and is completely engraved. Left side of slide has - Fabrique D'Armes De Guerre De Grande Precision and underneath that - Bulwark " Peteot-Deeque 112 C7239.

The finish is a little "grayed", but has no rust or pitting. The grip safety has number 42819. It has pearl/ivoy grips.

Is it a Spanish version of the FN???

Thanks for any Help,
Duwayne

You got it right. F.D.D.G.P. was a Trade Name used by a Spanish firearms wholesaler/distributor named Extezagarra and Abitua, of Eibar Spain. Many different Spanish manufacturers actually made the pistols. All they did was to make their standard models and add the F.D.D.G.P. name to fool folks into thinking they were getting a high quality Belgian made pistol.

The Bulwark was a standard copy of the 1906 Browning made by Beistegui brothers also of Eibar Spain. If it doesn't have any Spanish proof marks it was made before the mid 20's. If it does have proofs it was made before the Spanish Civil War.
