H&K Tactical Mags

I have 4-5 ten-round magazines that came with my Tactical (.45 Caliber - purchased during the mag restriction days).

I'd rather not buy 12-round magazines to replace the 10-rounders.

Can I replace the follower, spring and floor-plate(s) and convert these into 12-round magazines? If so, should I expect to save money over buying factory new 12-rounders?

Thanks!!

Bob

I don't know if the follower is longer on the 10 rounders to limit the 2 rounds to make 12. I'd check out a 12 rounder's follower to see if they are shorter then take your stock follower to a sander.

No Sand Easy fix is to pick up those mag extention plastic do hickies. It adds about 1" to the bottom of the mag by removing the stock mag bottom and slide in place the plus 2. Or do both and get 14 rounder mags.

My H&K .45 USP 10-rounders have a floor plate that forms the last inch or so of the mag body so the cartridge carrying portion of the magazine is actually two rounds short and can't be changed to 12 round by modifying the follower. Look at yours and see if this is the case on yours.
