My friend inherited a H&K model 270, 22 clip fed, semi-automatic rifle, I have never heard of one. Does anyone have any information about this gun or has anyone owned one?

Their rare and pricey rifles. Date to the late 70's. You can tell the DOM by the German coded proof mark. Haven't been made for 25+ years. Supposed to be very accurate. If it's original, VG condition or better would be a big buck collectors item to a HK collector. Accessories also very desirable, the original HK large capacity mag, scope mounts etc. Are worth big bucks in their own right.

They were extremely well made and very accurate. If you have the H&K quick detachable scope mount it is an expensive piece of gear and a collector will pay for it. The rifle is rather scarce as people were a little reluctant to pay the price for a .22 auto when they could get a 10/22 for a fraction of what the H&K went for.

I would rate the gun between fair and good condition. It has wear spots in the finish of the wood. It has 2 15 round clips. It does not have any scope mounts. It was indeed purchased in the 70's. Serial # is 2131
