I own a Mauser 660 rifle in a presentation case with three barrelled actions in 90-95% condition. I am having trouble establishing a fair market value for this set. I found two rifle at Cabellas website with single barrels for $2000 each in similar condition. Blue book is well below these prices. How do I find out the real value in tody's market for these rare rifles in such a set?

IMHO, contact Mauser and see what the last retail price was for a barreled action then subtract 30 percent and adjust for inflation.

Hello IMHO Cabela's Gun Library is very hard to use to judge value. There are a number of guns that have been listed for at least 2 years . Some that I am interested in . It looks like some are owned by that Cabela's store and others on consignment. on top of that some stores seem to be very knowledgeable and other stores don't have a clue. If you want value for insurance purpose $2000.00 for the rifle and case and $800.00 for each barrel set . Unless you have different Bolts one for 308 size and another for Magnum then this would add another $400.00 . With that said these guns are hard to find a buyer. and you would have to cut this price between 33% and 50% to get a fairly quick sale.

While top notch items,,,just a market thing for said item as perry points out. Doling out that money for that item would be a niche market which is almost non-existent/...put it up her with the least you would take IF YOU want ot sell and see what happens/
