My first time bidding

I would like to bid on a certain gun on the auction site. The seller lives in the same state that I do. Because of this, and because we are both private collectors, is it appropriate for me to physically pick up the gun from him, or am I required to go through an FFL?

It may be legally possible for you to pick it up; that depends upon the type of gun & your city/county/state.

The seller may or may not be willing to do a FTF; it is his call. I have had several prospective bidders ask me to do so, usually before they bid, but sometimes after they won. If it is important to you, you should definitely ask before you bid.

    ASK the seller.

editIf he does not respond BIG RED FLAG. IMHO a person trying to sell an Item should answer questions about said item on timely manner .
