what would cause this pistol to lock open after each shot after an extended slide release has been installed?
i know it has to do with the release , but what is the problem with the release?

    Hello your Thumb is most likely hitting it during recoil . [xx(] That or the plunger tube sping and pin dont have enought friction on the slide stop because the angle of the surface this pin rides on is different . Depending on how much you have worked on 1911 you may be able to put a small dimple on this surface to hold it down [:p] .IMHO if it ain't legal for a HARD-BALL GUN YOU DON'T NEED IT and an extended slide stop is not legal for C.M.P. pistol.
