Remington 870 wingmaster barrel fit

I have an 870 Wingmaster, 20 gauge, with a vent rib and a slug barrel. My question is this. When I put a barrel on the gun, and tighten the magazine cap to hold the barrel on, the barrel is not a tight fit in the receiver.
The cap is as tight as it goes (it comes to a definite stop). The barrel isn't falling-off-loose, but it can be moved in the receiver. The barrel appears to be seated fully in the receiver. I can not move it longitudaly (is that a word?), but it does twist slightly, and the receiver/barrel joint will flex slightly. I have cycled shells through the gun, and the action is smooth, it never misfeeds. I took the gun apart and cleaned it, and the bolt and slides and all the contact spots look good, with no significant scoring or noticeable wear. As far as I know the barrels are both original to the gun.
Is this normal?
Both barrels fit the same, and the gun has never been abused, It was inherited from my grandfather, who was meticulous with his guns, and probably hasn't been fired in at least a decade.
If this is normal, will it affect accuracy with the rifle sights on the slug barrel?
