I have been trying to locate pictures or prices of a shotgun in an upcoming auction. I have two large gun catalogues and can't find it anywhere. The gun is a single shot 410, is marked HSB & Co, Model W, also on one side is a dime-sized picture of a rooster. Can anyone tell me about this gun?

Are the barrels Damascus, does it have an exposed hammer? What is the barrel length? How does it break? ????????

H.S.B. & C0.- Abbreviation for Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Company of Chicago, Illinois, distributors of private-label arms from various makers...Low End priced firearms from the late 1800's thru the early 1900's. You could buy thru Mail Order Houses and Hardware Stores thoughout the U.S.....Single shot Shotguns sold for around $5.00 to $7.00...One in Excellent Condition is Worth $50.00....$75/100 in Mint Condition...No Great Collector desireability......Very possibly made in Belguim by Mre. Liegeoise d'Armes a Feu of liege, Belguim....This maker used the Rooster (COCKERILL) as a Trade Mark......

I agree with Captain Kirk, (I would have to be brain dead to disagree with him) the reason that I asked about the barrel was that the Belgian built guns retained Damascus barrel for quite a while after the US makers had switced.
