Mossberg 500 magazine

I got a Mossberg 500A with a 7 shot magazine. And I recently got a new barrel and its set for 5 or 6 shot and my magazine is WAY yo big and i am looking around and cant seem to find magazines on mossbergs website or any where else. Help?

    Well I'm not expert on pump shotguns, but the mag tube is built into the gun. I have a 500 Special Purpose Persuader myself... I know with most semi auto shotguns, you can disassemble and remove the mag tube. If the tube isn't permanently attached to the receiver, you may be able to exchange. If not, you're out of luck.

    I never cared much for 8 shot pumps because they are heavier and less balanced than 5 shots of the same model

    Well after taking my shotgun apart the magazine is on their for good. So I gotta send this barrel back to the person I bought it for. Well now I need a hunting shotgun! lol I am looking at some of the single shots now or a mosin nagant. hmmm Just dont know.

    Call 1 800 363-3555 and order a 5 round magazine. It will cost around $30 with shipping. As far as the other tube it is threaded into the receiver and sometimes Mossberg will use blue locktite in them. Be sure to clean all the locktite out of the threads. You can use alcohol and a pick for this.

    Mossy tube mag unscrews... you just need the replacement tube and spring. Call that 800 number above...

    yah just got it off after some time and a little crusing. And now I need a 5 shot and 8 shot :D lol I ordered that 5 shot and gonna need to order a 8 shot tomarrow. :D The price of learning is always good. :D

    I owned the exact same Mossburg, a 500A with a long tube. Origionally I had only a 20 inch barrel. I wanted a longer barrel for Quale, trap and skeet shooting.I e-mailed Mossburg abd ask them to send me a catalog. In the back of their catalog is a complete listing of barrels for all models. I found and ordered a 28 inch barrel, and a full set of choke tubes. The listing table can be a bit confusing but with a little carefull navagation you can find what your looking for. If you have any questions, Mossburg has a customer service telephone line listed in the catalog.
