I have an old C Sharps drop block that has 28 gauge stamped on the barrel. It also has two pattens stamped on the side of the action. One is r lawrance the other is c sharps. Any idea on how many were made and what it might be worth?

"Flayderman's Guide", the primary reference text for U.S. antique firearms collectors has a reference to Sharps, Model 1853, 28 bore, shotguns made by Robbins & Lawrence. They are extremely rare, and potentially very valuable. Because of this the expectations for fakery are great. Best get hold of a very knowledgeable/honest Sharps collector/dealer for a hands-on to verify it.
