Value check Arisaka

I have a 1938 Nagoya Type 99 Arisaka. Everything is original. The stock looks like it has been through hell and back. It has NOT been sporterized. It also STILL has the mum. Only thing. The bolt does NOT match the rifle. Bolt is also still straight and not cut off and curved.I know its 1938 because I looked up the numbers and the symbols for the correct year. It has the flip up avaiter sights without the wings. I had it checked by a gunsmith and he gave me the OK to shoot. I have ran 5 rounds through it (from 30-06 casings). Hit a 6" gong 5/5 times. Pretty accurate to me. Bore is in really good shape. I would like to make it my deer rifle in the woods for a challenge (un-scoped with the original metallic sights)!

Forgot to mention it is a 7.7x58mm Jap

What is the value of a rifle like mine? Thanks!!

My reference works on Jap rifles states that production of the type 99 commenced in 1939 with the "long rifle" style. A mis-matched shooter runs about 150-200 $.

Hope it was worth a little more. I guess the bolt not matching decreases the value a lot. Thank you!

Yea, I have picked up a couple here on G.B. for around 200...condition is everything of course. Mismatched bolts are very common on these rifles. I think yours should have the wings on it,,but could have been changed in the field. I would just keep it at home as a piece of history, although there would be nothing wrong with what you want ot do with it either,,,nambu
