schmidt rubin k.31 rifle serial number

can anyone tell me what year this schmidt rubin k.31 bolt action rifle, was manufactured? believe it shoots 7.5 ammo.6 shot clip matching serial numbers. serial number 946564. dont see a model number. was given to me as a present looks nice ,havent fired it . believe manufactured somewhere before 1955 , but dont know. thanks ron

    If you have a K-31, that is the model, and they are in caliber 7.55 x 55 SWISS. Excellent cartridge, does not interchange with any others. There is still Swiss Milsurp ammo available- getting scarce, get some. Non-corrosive, very accurate. Some reading for you on your rifle: http://www.surplusrifle.com/swissk31/index.asp

    If you have not done so, check under the buttplate for a slip of paper. Soldiers frequently had their name and address under the buttplate- in case you should forget, and leave your rifle on the streetcar, it could be returned to you. [:p]
