Cheytac - Still in business?

Does anyone know if Cheytac is still in business?
http://www.cheytac.com/

All of their phone numbers are either busy or have been disconnected, and I've emailed every person on their contact page with no response?
Makes me leary to drop that much coin on one of their rifles if the company has gone under? Does anyone have any info?

I think you've answered your own question.

If their phone lines are disconnected, and/or going unanswered, and they're not responding to emails, then by definition, they're not open for business.

That doesn't necessarily mean the guns are no good, though.

Also, even if the company itself folds, that doesn't mean that problems with the guns can't be fixed. They just can't be handled under warranty, and it might be hard to get parts (if necessary).

If your interested in a Cheytac then you need to check out EDM Arms from Redlands, CA, their Windrunner series was actually used by Cheytec.

    mrwhite1,

    Welcome to the Gunbroker forums!

Cheyenne Tactical (CheyTac) is under protection using the bankruptcy laws. This means that they have the opportunity to reorganize and continue conducting business if they can resolve their financial obligations.

Be aware that CheyTac never manufactured anything, they did some assembly but no manufacturing. EDM under the guidance of Bill Ritchie made the actions for CheyTac.

CheyTac has been plagued from the very start of their company with problems of all sorts. Simple misrepresentation of facts has been SOP unfortunately.

EDM Arms on the other hand, has gained a fine reputation with their Windrunner line of rifles.

The limitations with the CheyTac are basically the same ones found with other expensive rifle utilizing highly specialized cartridges, lack of bullet and powder selection. If it was my decision, I'd opt for the .375 SnipeTac because of the far better selection of bullets.

    Best.

Bill at EDM arms makes good stuff, I know a couple people who have the Windrunner 50s. They are also making an XM line marketing through Thor I believe.

I heard Lawton was making their receivers and barrels for them. I've also been trying to contact them with no success.

Has anyone had any experience with Knesekguns? (Supposed Cheytac Distributor) I had been in contact with them and they were pushing the Thor line of EDM pretty hard. After some persistence about Cheytac, they said they could get them but there was a 7 month wait on them.
