Win. Mod. 70 claw extractor

My question has to do with determining which model 70s have the claw extractor bolts. Other than observing the bolts, I understand :

1) pre - '64

2) "Classic"

3) serial numbers of = or > than G 35

Am I understanding these correctly? Are there other means also?

Have others also noticed that some sellers will clearly state "claw extractor" and / or controlled feed or not, but very few.
Have been making and keeping blisters on my fingers writing emails to sellers inquiring if theirs has the controlled feed with claw extractor bolt. I realize that many folks selling firearms, assume that all potential buyers, knows a much about whatever firearm as they do. Not always so though.

The Winchester Model 70s are just another of my weaker areas. Didn't know if I was missing something real obvious to others for determination other than seeing the bolt, or the serial number or seeing it marked as a "Classic".

Thanks for the assistance.

    Alan,

I don't think it was an abrupt change on the latter end. I know all the Pre-64's, but the Classics were "merged" into production. I think at the end they were still making both the Classic, and the regular non-claw extractor Model 70. If in doubt, you have to ask the seller, and if he does not know, all the post-63 claw extractors are "Classic"'s. If he still does not know, I would pass on it.
