I would like to do a conversion on one of these, such as adding a telescoping or folding stock, AK style handguards, front sight, etc. to make it look more like an AK. I'm a little confused on the legalities here. What can and what can I not do with this shotgun to stay legal?

anyone else have a horrible time with installing the axis pins for the trigger? I am installing a Tapco G2 and am having trouble with the trigger sitting cockeyed whenever I get the axis pin installed. When I have the trigger sitting correctly I end up fighting the pin for what seems like hours! I had it all together earlier but when I was going through the safety/fire tests and manually cocking the hammer, I noticed that the trigger didn't move enough to release the hammer. Thats when I noticed the trigger group was tipped foward. I took it all apart and have now been swearing at it for about 2 hours. HELP[?]

anybody out there with even a tip? I've tried dental floss to hold down the BHO spring, just can't get the pin to fully seat

My experience was with the small rifle, but should be similar to the 12. If all else fails, try the Saiga-12 forums, tons of folks very familiar with Saigas.
Keep using the string/floss to hold the BHO lever spring in place, but also use a punch that is slightly smaller than the axis pin as a slave from the right hand side, slowly removing the punch as you push the axis pin from the left side. Patience will help, it isn't easy.
Enemies of armed self-defense focus on the gun. They ignore the person protected with that gun.

Check to see if you have a single or double hook trigger. That is a major reason for the problem you describe. Be sure that you have the proper Tapco for that configuration. Double hook trigger will not work with a single hook conversion without cutting an extra slot in the bottom of the receiver.

The guys from Carolina Supply mentioned that sometimes the trigger will hit the receiver just in front of the trigger. I just needed to grind off the small nub on the very front of the Tapco G2 trigger that was already modified for the Saiga 12. It now pivots freely and work great. They little unkowns between these crude guns! From what I understand not all need this due to the factory tolerences not always being tight. Easy fix.
